Have you been to Hammond River Park lately?
This unique, local park is a great showcase of the Hammond River watershed's native biodiversity. Located at 28 Reynar Drive, the Hammond River Park boasts 5 km of walking trails and access to the Hammond River. In 2016, we partnered with the town of Quispamsis, Quispamsis Middle School, Hampton Middle School, and Rothesay Park School to make a lasting contribution to this park. Local classes chose 10 native species to feature with interpretative signs after taking a nature walk with the HRAA. Now we can pass along our knowledge of these species to anyone who is hiking the trails at the Hammond River Park. Today, the HRAA still uses these trails as a teaching tool for classes on field trips. We believe that outdoor education is a great way to foster environmental stewardship, interest, and enthusiasm for nature in our youth.
