The Hammond River Management Plan will guide management activity in the watershed for the next 5-10 years.  It prioritized sub-catchment areas within the watershed by evaluating water quality, fish & benthic macro-invertebrate health, environmental conditions, and development pressure.  This evaluation found the Palmer Brook, Nauwigewauk, Markhamville,  and Hanford areas to be the most vulnerable.

HAMMOND RIVER MANAGEMENT PLAN: SITES & SUB-CATCHMENTS (2015)

As part of the Hammond River Management Plan a detailed look at sites and sub-catchments in the watershed was completed.  This report looks at 17 sites and 11 sub-catchments and qualifies environmental conditions, relays water quality results, and discusses biological community health.
