September 20th, 2021 - Expanding our understanding of tributaries within the Hammond River watershed

This summer, we are expanding our understanding of tributaries within the Hammond River watershed. Part of this project includes water quality sampling in areas that have yet to be sampled- the Caledonia Highlands. These tributaries include Fletcher Brook, Mill Brook, Quigley Brook, Isaac Brook, the upper portion of Hanford Brook, and the Jenny Lind Brook (which is also part of our candidate Protected Natural Area!!)

We quickly realized that these mountainous brooks are providing super cold water to the Hammond River!! Check out the difference in water temperatures below!
