During our monitoring of Darlings Lake, we noticed a peculiar site:
Not only is the lake full of cyanobacteria, but it is also full of the invasive aquatic plant, called Eurasian Water Milfoil. Eurasian Water Milfoil can very quickly outcompete native plants, and can form dense mats, decreasing dissolved oxygen, and altering fish habitat.
We hope to remind everyone to please use caution in Darlings Lake, for both cyanobacteria and Eurasian Water Milfoil! Remember to always Clean, Drain, Dry to help decrease the spread of this nasty plant!
