The Monarch Butterfly (Danaus Plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is currently listed as endangered by The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and The Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC). It is listed as Special Concern (Under Consideration for status change) under the Species At Risk Act in Canada.
